China-German-Africa: opportunities for trilateral cooperation and business

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany Beijing, the Sino-German Center for Sustainable Development (CSD), and the German Chambers of Commerce AHK Greater China jointly hosted the Conference on China-Germany-Africa: Opportunities for Trilateral Cooperation in German Embassy Beijing this Wednesday.

Mr. Li Weijun and Mr. Hagen Ettner, the Chinese and German directors for the CSD delivered a joint introductory presentation about the CSD and how this newly-established institution by Chinese and German governments can support enterprise partners in trilateral cooperation projects.

Ms. Gisela Hammerschmidt, the Deputy Director General of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, and Dr. Frank Rueckert, Minister, and the Head of Economic Department from the German Embassy opened the conference. Representatives from China Develoment Bank, AHK Greater China, South African Embassy Beijing, KfW Development Bank, Center International Group, and Voith Hydro China shared from their points of view how businesses can support Sino-German development cooperation in Africa.

More than 130 representatives from governments, development banks, and Chinese and German companies participated in the conference.
